As part of the “Sylvia: prouver, éprouver” artistic research project in collaboration with corsican choreographer Laetitia Brighi, I attended two artist residencies, one at Théâtre Alibi in Bastia (Corsica), the other at BIRCA on the island of Bornholm (Denmark). The project is funded by EU Island Connect.
The project is inspired by forest ecosystems and their dynamics of solidarity. It explores the possibility of linking European islands through their forests by intertwining their mystical and technological knowledge. Through the establishment of two parallel networks —one mystical and the other, mineral —the project creates a connection between two specific island forests: those of Corsica and Bornholm. These two forests, symbols of the ecological richness of European islands, engage in dialogue through artistic and technological actions.
As a side project, I also took the opportunity of this residency to initiate the series of performance “Same player shoots again” on failure and resilience. The “Moving Coasline” performance on a beach of the baltic sea makes up its first element.
